Caustic Soda

Caustic Soda Solution holds the formula NaOH and is mainly used as a strong chemical base in the manufacture of pulp and paper, textiles, drinking water, soaps and detergents and as a drain cleaner.

applications

An industrial cleaning agent where it is often called "caustic". A common use in the production of parts washer detergents.

Used in demanding cleaning applications, such as breweries, bakeries and other food processing environments.
Petroleum industry - petroleum products refining
Food preparation - include washing or chemical peeling of fruits and vegetables, chocolate and cocoa processing, caramel colouring production, poultry scalding, soft drink processing, and thickening ice cream. For degreasing and treatment of packaging in food industry (dairy plants, fat-and-oil plants, liquor enterprises, tobacco plants)

An additive in drilling mud to increase alkalinity in bentonite mud system

Esterification and trans esterification reagent - traditionally used in soap making (cold process soap, saponification).

Chemical pulping - widely used in pulping of wood for making paper or regenerated fibres.

Dissolving amphoteric metals and compounds
Powerful means for pH adjustment, neutralizing water streams and contributing to reducing corrosion.

Caustic soda Solid – holds the molecular formula NaOH. It has a variety of uses across Breweries, Dairies and Food Processing Plants. It is not suitable for use on aluminium, zinc, tin or their alloys. Caustic soda pearls easily dissolves in water, with heat release. The product is soluble in methyl and ethyl alcohols. Both are a principal strong base used in the chemical industry.
As a solution it appears clear with no distinguishing odor, in Pearl form – White semi spherical granules in appearance with no recognisable odor and as Flake – White solid based flakes with no recognisable odor
