Antifreeze & Coolant

Airedale Chemical Antifreeze is an MEG based chemical additive which lowers the freezing point of a water-based liquid.

An antifreeze mixture is used to achieve freezing-point depression for cold environments and also achieves boiling-point elevation to allow higher coolant temperature. Freezing and boiling points are colligative properties of a solution, which depend on the concentration of the dissolved substance. Anti-freeze contains corrosion inhibitors. Airedale Chemical Antifreeze is a blue liquid (although other colour variants are available on request) with an MEG based odour.

Automotive Automotive

Primarily used in an automotive context, corrosion inhibitors are added to help protect vehicles’ radiators, which often contain a range of electrochemically incompatible metals
