Dye Lab Apprentice, Full Time

Airedale Chemical is now actively investing in the future of the chemical industry in the search for the first of many Apprentice positions intended for our growing business. We are currently looking for an ambitious school leaver (post A Levels) who possess strong grades in Chemistry and Mathematics to join our industry leading Dye Labs.

The candidate should display a keen interest in design and colour science and be able to learn ‘on the job’ working directly under our Dye Lab Manager.

Other requirements from the ideal candidate include: 

  • An individual who is passionate to continue their education.
  • Someone who is highly organised, reliable and punctual.
  • Be able to work as part of a team, interacting with other lab/production staff and long-standing customers.
  • Possibility of local and international travel in the role.
  • Clean driving license preferable

HR Advisor, Full Time

We are currently recruiting this brand new role as a result of significant increases to employee numbers. The ideal candidate will be expected to:

      • Deliver a comprehensive HR service to the business.
      • Employee relations, including managing absence, disciplinaries, grievances and sickness.
      • Overall responsibility for recruitment activity and advertising, writing job descriptions and preparing interview questions.
      • Provide advice on recruitment and selection strategies.
      • Carry out new starter inductions.
      • Continuously monitor and review HR policies and processes and implement changes where necessary in line with current employment law. Ensuring managers are up to date with changes to any policies.
      • Performance management: coaching managers on performance management issues and processes.
      • Managing Apprenticeship Levy ensuring the group utilises the levy to its full, recruiting and placing apprentices in relevant areas of the business.
      • Learning and development: providing guidance on development for managers and their teams.
      • Supporting employees on company benefits i.e. Childcare Vouchers & Ride to Work Schemes.
      • Working with senior managers, coaching them and advising on all people issues.
      • Administration of company pension.
      • Support change management processes.

Requirements for the role

      • Proven HR experience of three to five years is expected.
      • Exceptional organisational and communication skills are required, together with proven leadership capabilities and solid knowledge of employment legislation and its application.
      • Experienced in developing and supporting managers through change.
      • An ability to maintain confidentiality and act with discretion and diplomacy is crucial.
      • Self-motivated and able to work under own autonomy or as part of a team.
      • Experience of dealing with senior and sometimes challenging individuals.
      • Ability to build rapport quickly with key members of the company.
      • Confident advising managers on all aspects of people management and development.
      • Demonstrable experience in managing redundancy or other relevant HR projects.
      • Strong understanding of employment law.
      • Have a CIPD, MBA in human resource management or equivalent qualification.
      • A professional approach to HR, with the ability to deliver high employee satisfaction and appropriate development for individuals.

HGV Driver, Full Time

We are currently recruiting for a relief HGV driver to join our extensive distribution team. The role will cover holiday periods however when driver cover is not required the role will be based at our manufacturing site in Cross Hills working in both the warehouse and yard.

Requirements for the role:

      • Full clean driving license
      • HGV Class 1
      • ADR for packages and tanks
      • Full drivers CPC

Nights Chemical Warehouse, Full Time

The opportunity to join our dynamic and fast paced chemical warehousing team based at our primary production facility in Cross Hills, West Yorkshire.

Roles and Responsibilities:

      • Handling Hazardous Chemicals
      • Following all H & S rules/procedures – incl. wearing PPE as and when required.
      • Loading/Unloading Vehicles with a FLT
      • Loading/Unloading tankers using pumps
      • Picking, packing and labelling Chemicals into various containers
      • Unloading Sea Containers using a FLT
      • Washing out drums and Containers
      • General housekeeping duties

Working hours – 5pm-5am Monday to Thursday, Any overtime is paid at time plus half outside above hours, 16 Shifts paid holiday plus bank holidays, All clothing, boots and PPE supplied, Company pension scheme
